Eric Dudley - Clergyman and Church Leader
Eric Dudley is a clergyman and church leader, known for his decades-long dedication to pastoral care, church growth, and community engagement. With extensive experience guiding congregations and managing complex church operations, Eric Dudley combines theological insight with practical leadership to inspire faith communities and nurture spiritual growth.
In 1989, Eric Dudley began serving as associate rector at Christ Episcopal in Greenville, South Carolina, where he honed his pastoral and administrative skills. Over six years, he gained valuable experience in preaching, teaching, and community engagement, preparing him for senior leadership roles in larger parishes.
Between 1995 and 2005, he served as rector at St. John’s Episcopal in Tallahassee, Florida. In this role, he guided the congregation through periods of growth, providing spiritual leadership, managing staff, and overseeing church operations. His commitment to pastoral care and teaching strengthened the parish’s community presence and engagement. In addition he oversaw the expansion and renovation of the historic church, created a bookstore, a downtown cafe within the church property, and took over the responsibility of College Ministry at Florida State University.
In 2005 Fr. Dudley created St. Peter's Anglican Church (now, Cathedral) where, for 14 years he developed strong outreach programs (locally and abroad), grew the congregation, and raised over 18 million dollars to buy land and build a gothic cathedral. Once the cathedral was established Dudley continued to grow the congregation, add staff, and expand ministries until it became one of the five largest congregations in the Anglican Church in North America.
In March 2020, Eric Dudley assumed his current role as rector of Christ Church in Tallahassee. He oversees all parish operations, including staff management, volunteers, budgets, and planning. In addition to weekly worship, preaching, and teaching, he provides pastoral care and leads outreach initiatives within the broader community.
